Bartłomiej Smoczyński
CrossFit Level 3 Trainer · AWF graduate
I have been a coach for over a decade. I started as a karate coach, then came classic strength training in the gym and organised classes, and since 2022 I have been a CrossFit coach. At the club they call me "Smoku". For me CrossFit was a natural evolution: it is very close to what we know as physical preparation in combat sports, so the transition came naturally. And then there is Rich Froning, I think everyone wanted to be like him at some point. I am a graduate of the Józef Piłsudski University of Physical Education, and I hold CrossFit Level 3, BirdBox Coach Development, The Gymnastics Course and The Burgener Weightlifting Course. Besides regular CrossFit classes, I run the powerlifting section and weightlifting sessions at the club, so everything with a barbell. Building strength and physique is my speciality. Want to know how to lift for a long time, safely and without injury, understand technique and strengthen your weakest links? You are in the right place. Privately I am dad to an Australian shepherd and an enthusiast of board sports, and when I am not working at the weekend I am probably dancing somewhere until dawn. I am happiest when I am eating a double-meat burger after a hard session.

What I expect from the people I coach
Regularity and commitment, and transparency about your physical and emotional state. I will take care of the rest.
How I teach
In training, what matters most to me is that athletes understand the movement: what it should look like and what should be working.
If the first session scares you
The best time to start training was 10 years ago, but the second best is now!
